Sociopaths and the Court System, It’s Just Not Fair

Sociopaths and the Court System: Isn’t the courts supposed to protect us and our children from the devastation of a sociopath? In this episode, “Fallen Angel,” Amber and Athena feel anything but supported. Ben created a fake receipt to turn into the court and illegally broke free from his ankle monitor in order to go on a weekend getaway with Avery. But, the reign of terror didn’t end there!

How A Sociopath Fools The Court System

And excerpt from the episode,

There was no way Ben was going to get away with it this time – the evidence from Arizona was all there! While I was no longer friends with Avery on social media, her friends were, and they weren’t shy about forwarding on texts and photos to me and Athena. Ben and Avery thought they were being careful about not posting selfies together but again…any moron could put two-and-two together. We diligently collected everything and turned it into the prosecutor. Avery proudly posted a picture of the Billy Joel concert they attended on her Instagram with #love, #forevermemories and #arizona. Ben also posted a public photo to his Facebook page standing in front of an old collector’s car. After closely examining the photo, we noticed the coffee shop behind him looked unique to the area he was at. When we looked it up…BOOM! It was only located in Phoenix, Arizona. Now we have both Avery and Ben at the same location at the same time. We were even able to provide their plane ticket reservations. It should have been a slam dunk!” AMBER

Legal Battle Tips

  1. Document EVERYTHING
  2. Have witnesses
  3. Get your own information from doctors, teachers, therapists etc.
  4. Hire an aggressive, competent attorney
  5. Do not allow a sociopath’s lies become part of court record.
  6. Stay calm
  7. Demand detailed court orders

Typically, fighting means a legal battle. Here are a few things you need to know about going to court against a sociopath (excerpt from lovedfraud.com):

  1. Sociopaths love going to court. Often they’ll be cool and collected, while you have a meltdown, which makes you look bad.
  2. Sociopaths often hire sociopathic attorneys, so they’ll be tag-teaming you. Somehow, many sociopaths manage to find sociopathic lawyers. This means not only will the sociopath do anything in order to win, but so will the lawyer.
  3. Sociopaths lie in court. The sociopath is capable of doing absolutely anything in order to win. This includes lying under oath, accusing you of doing things that you never did, convincing other people to lie (knowingly or unknowingly), falsifying documents, threatening you and the children, and more.
  4. Judges frequently don’t understand sociopaths and may not see through the lies. Sociopaths are quite capable of also manipulating psychologists. Sociopaths can play the victim, talk about loving their children, paint you as the person with problems and some psychologists will swallow it all, hook, line and sinker.
  5. Court costs money. Sociopaths will keep the battle going until you no longer have the money to fight. A typical sociopathic strategy is to keep dragging you into court simply to cost you money. The idea is to bleed your finances until you can no longer afford to fight.
  6. You may know the truth, but may not be able to prove it. Justice may not prevail. Who you get as a judge matters a lot. When you know whom your judge is, you should find out everything you can about him or her. They are supposed to be impartial, but that isn’t always the case. Some judges are biased against men while others are biased against women. Some judges will listen to kids, some will not. This person holds your fate in his or her hands.
