As I hand him the remote control, I feel my eyelids get heavy. I lean my head against his shoulder while we continue talking. Oh no….the Nightime cold and flu meds were kicking in! My eyes began to close. I fight to stay awake. I give in.
I hear the TV still on when I start to come to. I feel a vibration beneath me and I slowly open my eyes. I realize I am slumped over across Ben’s legs. I look below the TV at the cable box and see that it’s 12 a.m.
Oh my god, I had trapped this poor man under my sleeping body for hours!
I continue to pretend to be sleeping as he slowly and carefully maneuvers his vibrating cell phone from his pocket. I can see his cell phone screen clearly as he reads his incoming text.
His friend Doug was telling him they had a group of hot chicks at their table and was asking where he was and why he’s taking so long to meet up with them.
I discreetly watch him type his response and was happily surprised when he tells Doug that he…….
